​Carmen Miranda Biopic – ‘Weekend in Havana’ Costume

This is a recreation of Carmen Miranda’s ‘Weekend in Havana’ costume.  I used a variety of techniques in this costume such as creating panels on the skirt, millinery, drafting a raglan sleeve and more.  I think this is a very effective interpretation of the original costume. The fit and shape of the costume works really well and the hat – made with sinamay, fake flowers, beads, organza butterflies and a bow - finishes it off nicely.
