 Entry to the Felt maker's competition.  My hat was inspired by the art of CY Twombly and my own abstract paintings to inspire the decoration.  I created a cloche hat with the felt hood and then embellished with needle felting which I tried to approach as if it were painting in 3D.  I blanket stitched the edge and attached pieces of wool to represent the paint drips that are common in Twombly’s paintings.  I made the most of using wool and felt for my hat, embracing the material.
